This week’s session is all about developing power in the full swing and introducing the pull shot as a key scoring option. Players will work on swinging with greater intent, driving the ball harder, and learning how to transfer their bodyweight effectively to generate more force.

Alongside this, players will be introduced to the pull shot—a skill that helps them take advantage of shorter balls and expand their scoring range. The goal isn’t perfection, but giving them a feel for when and how to use it.

Keep the energy high, focus on committed movement and strong contact, and encourage players to embrace the challenge of hitting with more power. Let them explore, experiment, and enjoy the progress.

🔁 Players should aim to complete the full session twice this week to maximise development.

Activity 1: Drop Feeds Step and Hits

Duration: 5–10 minutes
Repetitions:
20–30 balls

In this activity, you’ll receive drop feeds and focus on stepping into the ball with intent to generate powerful full swings. The aim is to use forward momentum and timing to hit the ball with force, developing explosiveness and balance. Each repetition involves an aggressive step followed by a clean strike.

Activity 2: Underarm Midwicket 6 Hits

Duration: 10–15 minutes
Repetitions:
30–60 balls

In this activity, you will receive underarm throws and aim to hit lofted shots over midwicket for sixes. The focus is on committing to the swing, generating power, and lifting the ball into the air with intent. Each shot should be played with the mindset of clearing the boundary while maintaining control and balance.

Activity 3: Spin Throws Straight Power Hits

Duration: 10–20 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls

Activity Overview:
In this activity, you’ll face spin throws and aim to hit the ball straight back past the bowler with maximum power using a full, committed swing. The focus is on hitting with intent and generating strong bat speed while maintaining balance and rhythm through the shot.

Use your body and swing together to strike the ball hard and clean down the ground. This drill encourages players to build confidence in aggressive intent against spin.

Activity 4: Spin Throws Pull shots Lofted

Duration: 10–20 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls

Activity Overview:
In this activity, you will face spin throws and execute lofted pull shots into the leg-side, ideally over midwicket or square leg. The goal is to commit to hitting the ball in the air with power and control, using a full swing and strong body rotation.

This is all about reading the length early, staying balanced, and generating elevation while maintaining intent. Watch the activity video for a full explanation on how to complete the task.
