Session Outline

This week, players will focus on learning how to hit the ball with increasing power. The emphasis is on using a full, committed swing to generate strong, purposeful contact. Players will explore how to swing with intent and use their body to produce force, both for shots along the ground and those hit in the air.

Through targeted activities, they’ll learn to balance aggression with control—developing a feel for when to go hard and how to maintain technique under pressure.

Activity 1

Drop Feeds (Straight) Full Swing Power Hits

Duration: 5–10 minutes
Repetitions: 20–30 balls
In this activity, you will rotate between two hitting styles against straight drop feeds. Hit 5 balls with maximum power, then 5 balls with balance and control. Watch the activity video for a full explanation on how to complete the task.

Activity 2

Spin Throws (Straight) Full Swings

Duration: 10–20 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls

Activity 3

Spin Throws Lofted (Straight) Full Swings

Duration: 10–20 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls
In this activity, you will hit spin throws in the air straight back past the bowler using a full swing. Watch the activity video for a full explanation on how to complete the task.

Activity 4

Spin Throws Lofted (Mid off-Mid on) Full Swings

Duration: 10–15 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls
In this activity, you will hit underarm throws with a drive and hold your balanced finish for 2 seconds after each shot. Watch the activity video for a full explanation on how to complete the task.
