Session Outline
In week 1, players will be learning about how to swing the bat with a full natural swing. They will develop this skill with a range of different drop feed and underarm throw activities.
Activity 1
Activity 1: Drop Feeds Full Swing Straight
Duration: 5–10 minutes
Repetitions: 20–30 balls
In this activity, you will hit drop feeds along the ground straight back past the bowler using a full swing. The emphasis is on generating strong, clean contact with a stable base and full extension, sending the ball consistently through the straight channel.
Activity 2
Activity 2: Spin Drop Feeds (Straight) Full Swings
Duration: 5–10 minutes
Repetitions: 20–30 balls
In this activity, you will hit spin drop feeds along the ground straight back past the bowler using a full swing. Focus on strong setup, clean footwork, and swinging through the line of the ball to create consistent, powerful contact. The aim is to drive the ball firmly through the straight zone with control and balance.

Activity 3: Bat-Down Drop Feeds (Straight) Full Swings
Duration: 5–10 minutes
Repetitions: 20–30 balls
In this activity, you will hit bat-down drop feeds along the ground straight back past the bowler using a full swing. The bat is pre-positioned near the ground at setup to promote clean bat lift, driven contact and strong extension through the shot.

Activity 4: Underarm Spin Throws (Straight) Full Swing
Duration: 10–15 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls
In this activity, you will hit underarm spin throws along the ground straight back past the bowler using a full swing. Focus on balance, timing, and solid extension through the straight zone..
