This week, players will learn how to hit the check swing. Developing the check swing is a crucial part of the development of young players and it is critical that they watch carefully and try and replicate the technical aspects described in this session.
Activity 1
Spin Drop Feeds (Straight) Alternating Swings
Spin Drop Feeds (Straight) Alternating Swings
Duration: 5–10 minutes
Repetitions: 20–30 balls

Activity 2
Spin Underarms (Straight) Alternating Swings
Duration: 10–15 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls
In this activity, you will face spin underarm throws straight down the ground, alternating between full swings and check swings. Watch the activity video for a full explanation on how to complete the task.
Activity 3
Underarm Pullshots
Duration: 10–15 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls
In this activity, you will play a pull shot against underarm throws, aiming to hit the ball through the midwicket area along the ground. Focus on setting a strong base, using quick hands, and maintaining a level head as you transfer your weight across. This drill helps develop balance, timing, and control when playing horizontal bat shots to balls on a shorter length.

Underarm Drives Balance Holds
Duration: 10–15 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls
