Session Outline
This week, players will learn how to hit the check swing. Developing the check swing is a crucial part of the development of young players and it is critical that they watch carefully and try and replicate the technical aspects described in this session.
Activity 1
Spin Drop Feeds (Mid Off-Mid on) Alternating Swings
Spin Drop Feeds (Straight) Alternating Swings
Duration: 5–10 minutes
Repetitions: 20–30 balls

Activity 2
Underarm Throws (Mid Off–Mid On) Check Swings
Duration: 10–15 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls
In this activity, you will hit underarm throws with check swings through mid off and mid on. Watch the activity video for a full explanation on how to complete the task.
Activity 3
Spin Throws Pullshots
Duration: 10–20 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls
In this activity, you will play pull shots against spin throws, aiming to hit the ball through the midwicket area. Watch the activity video for a full explanation on how to complete the task.
Activity 4
Underarm Spin Throws (Straight) Any Swing
Duration: 10–15 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls
In this activity, you will hit underarm spin throws straight back past the bowler using any swing type you choose. Watch the activity video for a full explanation on how to complete the task.
