Session Outline

This week is centred around developing a forward, aggressive mindset — one that helps players move with intent, trust their reactions, and commit fully to each shot.

Through each activity, players will learn to think forward and straight as their first instinct, training the body to move positively toward the ball. The focus is on creating the habit of decisive movement, strong weight transfer, and maintaining balance through the shot.

Rather than waiting or reacting late, players are encouraged to commit early, stay calm under pressure, and build confidence in their ability to adjust when needed. By the end of the week, players should feel more decisive in their intent, more connected between mindset and movement, and better equipped to play with purpose and control.

Activity 1

Activity 1: Sidearms Mindset Exploration

Duration: 10–20 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls

Activity Overview:
This activity focuses on developing a forward and attacking mindset using sidearm feeds from the full length of the pitch. Players are encouraged to think forward and straight as their first movement and intent, trusting their reactions to adjust if they need to defend or move back. The goal is to train a positive, proactive approach to batting — committing to move into the ball aggressively, staying balanced, and building confidence to play with intent while still reacting naturally to line and length.

Activity 2

Activity 2: Underarms Aggressive Transfer

Duration: 10–15 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls

Activity Overview:
This activity focuses on developing committed and aggressive weight transfer into the ball using underarm feeds from half-pitch distance. The batter prepares early, delays movement slightly, and then drives forward with intent — feeling the hands and body work powerfully together through contact. The emphasis is on creating forward momentum while maintaining balance and body alignment through the shot.

Activity 3

Activity 3: Sidearms Covering Off stump focus

Duration: 10–20 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls

Activity Overview:
This activity develops strong head and body alignment toward the ball using sidearm feeds from the full length of the pitch. A cone is placed just outside off stump to give the batter a visual reference point. The batter works on getting their head across to cover off stump, ensuring they are not staying leg side of the ball. The focus is on creating the habit of aligning the body and head toward the line of the ball, allowing for cleaner, more controlled contact and better coverage of off stump.

Activity 4

Activity 4: Sidearms Aggressive Transfer

Duration: 10–20 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls

Activity Overview:
This activity builds on the underarm version by introducing sidearm feeds from the full length of the pitch to simulate game pace. The focus remains on strong, aggressive weight transfer into the ball, with the batter committing fully forward and striking through the line. Players are encouraged to move decisively into position, drive with intent, and finish balanced through the shot. The goal is to combine power, control, and rhythm under realistic match conditions.
