This week, players will be learning how to swing the bat with a full, natural motion. The focus is on helping them connect with their instincts—encouraging freedom and power when striking the ball. It's all about getting them comfortable swinging hard and committing fully to their shots.

At this early stage, the most important thing is to build confidence. Avoid overcorrecting or focusing on mistakes. Instead, highlight moments of success and reinforce their efforts to hit the ball with intent. Let them feel what it’s like to hit with power.

Players should aim to complete this activity set twice this week for maximum benefit.

Activity 1: Spin Drop Feeds - Full Swing Mid off - Mid on

Duration: 5–10 minutes
Repetitions: 20–30 balls

Activity Overview:
In this activity, you will face spin drop feeds and aim to hit the ball on the ground between mid off and mid on using a full swing. This encourages clear footwork alignment, a long swing path through the ball, and clean contact along the ground between those straight scoring zones.

This is a valuable drill for practicing timing, body positioning, and learning how to extend through the line against spin bowling.

Activity 2: Spin Underarms - Full Swing Mid off-Mid on

Duration: 10–15 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls

Activity Overview:
In this activity, you will face underarm spin throws and aim to hit the ball along the ground between mid off and mid on using a full swing. This drill is designed to build your ability to control the ball into the straight gaps while maintaining strong balance and body alignment.

It helps reinforce footwork positioning and swing direction when playing against spin through the straight channel.

Activity 3: Spin Throws Full Swings (Straight)

Duration: 10–20 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls

Activity Overview:
In this activity, you’ll face spin throws and aim to hit the ball straight back past the bowler using a full swing. The objective is to connect cleanly through the line of the ball, developing balance, strong swing mechanics, and control into the straight channel.

This drill encourages players to transfer their weight into the shot and commit fully to the swing, helping develop confidence and power when playing against spin.

Activity 4: Underarm Spin throws (Mid off-Mid on) Competition

Duration: 10–15 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls

Activity Overview:
In this competition, you'll face underarm spin throws and attempt to hit the ball through the mid off and mid on gaps using any swing type—full swing, check swing, or alternating. The challenge is to alternate between the two gaps, continuing with the same target until you hit it cleanly, then switching to the other.

This drill builds gap awareness, shot control, and encourages players to experiment with different swings to find what works best for each delivery line.

Scoring System:

  • ✅ 2 points to the player for successfully hitting the target gap

  • ❌ 1 point to the coach if the player misses

  • 🎯 First to 15 points wins
