Underarm Drives Balance Holds

Duration: 10–15 minutes
Repetitions: 30–60 balls

Activity Overview:
In this activity, players will face underarm throws and work on driving the ball straight back past the thrower. After each shot, the player must hold their finishing position for 2–3 seconds to reinforce control, balance, and body alignment through the swing.

The emphasis is on swinging with intent, then holding the finish to assess posture, bat path, and weight transfer. This builds strength, awareness, and repeatable technique.

Focus Points:

  • Finish with front shoulder and head over the ball

  • Bat high and through the target line

  • Balanced base—no falling or wobbling after the shot

Coach Tip:
Use cones to define a straight target zone and reinforce feedback on balance during each hold. You can also turn this into a competition or challenge format if desired.
