Become a Coach With Unleashed

Casual Junior Batting Coach

Casual | Remuneration dependent on experience and qualifications

Unleashed Batting is looking for a passionate cricket coach on Brisbane’s Northside to join our growing coaching team.

We are seeking a casual coach to initially work within our junior coaching pathway, with opportunities to deliver junior batting programs, school holiday camps and one-on-one coaching.

This role would suit an enthusiastic coach with a strong cricket background who enjoys working with developing players and wants to continue developing their own coaching within a structured batting development system.

The Role

As a Casual Junior Batting Coach, you may be involved in:

  • Delivering junior group batting programs

  • Coaching junior one-on-one clients

  • Assisting with school holiday camps and other Unleashed programs

  • Working alongside our Head Coach and other Unleashed coaches

  • Setting up and packing down coaching equipment

  • Recording completed coaching sessions

  • Completing basic administration and incident reporting when required

  • Communicating professionally with players and parents

Most regular coaching opportunities will be available before and after school on Fridays and across Sundays.

Additional casual hours may become available during school holidays, camps, special programs and other periods of increased demand.

Hours will be offered on a casual and variable basis according to coaching demand and are not guaranteed from week to week.

Pay

The casual hourly rate for this position will generally range from $35–$50 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications and the nature of the coaching being undertaken.

A coach's starting rate will reflect their playing background, coaching experience, qualifications and ability to independently deliver Unleashed Batting sessions.

Applicable minimum rates, casual loading, penalty rates and other entitlements will be paid in accordance with the relevant employment requirements.

As coaches develop within Unleashed Batting, there may be opportunities to take on additional coaching hours, one-on-one clients and greater responsibility within our programs.

How We Coach

Successful applicants will receive training in the Unleashed Batting coaching philosophy and development system.

Our approach prioritises the development of athletic batting skills such as balance, movement and power, before progressively introducing greater technical detail as players develop.

We want our coaches to understand why we coach this way, rather than simply delivering a collection of drills.

All coaches will undertake training in our coaching system before independently delivering Unleashed Batting sessions and will be expected to coach consistently within this philosophy.

What We're Looking For

Applicants must:

  • Hold a current Queensland Blue Card

  • Hold a current Queensland driver's licence

  • Hold a minimum Level 1 Cricket Australia coaching accreditation, or current equivalent

  • Hold a current First Aid qualification, or be willing to obtain one with our assistance

  • Be reliable and comfortable working independently

  • Communicate professionally with young players and their parents

  • Be willing to undertake training in the Unleashed Batting coaching system

  • Be available primarily on Fridays and Sundays

Playing experience within junior representative/pathway cricket or senior grade cricket will be highly regarded, as will previous cricket coaching experience.

All equipment required to deliver Unleashed Batting sessions will be provided.

Private Coaching

Coaches may have the opportunity to build a portfolio of one-on-one junior clients through Unleashed Batting.

To protect our players, families and coaching program, coaches engaged by Unleashed Batting must not independently solicit or privately coach Unleashed Batting clients outside of the business unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed to in advance.

How to Apply

Please submit your CV and a short cover letter to unleashedbatting@gmail.com

Rather than a generic cover letter, we'd like you to answer the following questions:

  1. Tell us about your cricket background. Where have you played and at what level?

  2. What coaching experience do you have? Include any clubs, schools, academies or representative programs you have worked within.

  3. Why are you interested in coaching with Unleashed Batting?

  4. What do you think makes a great coach for a young cricketer?

  5. Imagine you're coaching a 10-year-old batter who is struggling technically and losing confidence. How would you approach the session?

  6. What days and times are you generally available to coach, particularly on Fridays and Sundays?

  7. What Cricket Australia coaching accreditation do you currently hold? Do you also currently hold a Blue Card and First Aid qualification?

We're not looking for someone who already knows everything about batting coaching.

We're looking for someone with a strong cricket foundation, a willingness to learn and the ability to connect with young players.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to develop as a coach, work directly within the Unleashed Batting system and take on greater coaching opportunities as our programs continue to grow.

Applications are now open and will remain open until the position is filled.
